WINTER BREAK
THis winter break my family and i went on a cruise to the caribbean. We went to ruins, went ziplinning, and snorking.

WEEK 1
Monday 1-9-17
Today is the first day back and the robotics kids in the calss went up and talked about the First Robotics Competition. They talked about
what ideas they had and events in the past for the whole period. Here is the video.

Today kirk showed us more things that we can do with html. Also what we can do to improve our website and make it more

Today we had another Wednesday Challenge. We had a few supplies to create a contraption to pick up a golf ball from a paper bag and move it

Today the class went over making a homepage but last week Cole and I made one so i filled out the Wednesday Challenge Form for yesterday and
updated my website.

Today the Robotics kids talked to us about their progress with the First Steamworks Competition. What their ideas where to improve their structures.
They talked about their thoughts on how to build their robot.
WEEK 2
Monday 1-23-17
Today we went and looked at grades and some of the good websites. I got to drive so everyone could see my computer and what i was doing.
Tuesday 1-24-17
Today we talked a little bit about how this semester we are going to start doing things with wheels. Dr. Neat talked about a project that we're
doing where we have to build a car with wheels and made out of cardboard, glue, and straws. It also has to be 4"x8"x3".

Today was another Wednesday Challenge. We had to think and draw a creation of a little gadget that we can all create and hand out at the
robotics challenge. We thought of a thing with 2 bike chains and 2 chains. Its more of a bordem stopper. Here is the Wednesday Challenge Form.

Today we where on our own. We could improve our website or work on our cardboard box car. My links werent working so i had help from Kirk and
fixed those.
Friday 1-27-17
Today the robotics kids talked to us more about the First Steamworks challenge. They taled about what they want to have done by next week and
what they have been working on this week.

Monday 1-30-17
Today we went over what will be reqired on the website for the next grading period. Then Mr. MIller talked about resource managment. Then we got
to work on our cars.

Today we have to keep working on our car and try to finish it. I glued and layerd the car together.
Friday 2-3-17
Today the robotics talked to us about their final product. They showed us their final CAD and what they are going to build later. Also they talked to
us about the different mechanism and funtions of the machine. After that we got to work on our car some more. I started to cut out my wheels.
WEEK 4
Weekend
THis weekend i worked more on my car. I cut and glued all my wheeles together and started to gue the weight that im putting on the back of my car. I
havent glued the extra weight onto the back of the car yet though.i glued the wheeles onto the axis of the car.

Today Mr. Miller talked to us about updating our websites and how we need to keep up with it. For the rest of the class we worked on our cars. I finished
Cutting and glueing it together. I also tested it on the ramp and it did really well. A lot better than i thought it was going to be.

Today we got to work more on our cars. Since im already done with mine i measured and made sure that it was in the correct measurements. I also made
it look cooler.

Thursday 2-9-17
Today we tested our cars. I tested mine about half way down the track and had to postion mine facing a little to the left. when i actually tested mine
it went down about 14 ft which was really far compared to the other cars. My first socre was 14' and something" that i dont remember. A lot of other people
got like 8-11' about so i got a pretty high score. i learned that i had to position my ccar a little to the right so that it would make it far. Here is a picture.

I went out of town yesterday to go skiing so i wasnt here today. My family went up to Park City and skied for about 3 days. It rained a lot on the first
day then we had a powder day which was really nice then the last day the snow was super great.

We didnt have school yesterday so coming back today Dr. Neat and Mr. Miller talked to us about our grades and what we can do to fix them. THe rest of

Today is another Wednesday challenge. We have to all stand in a cirlce and pass tubes to the person to our left. everyone has a tube so we have to pass

Today we are going to work on our websites more so that we can get a good grade on our next grading period which is tomorrow. I just made sure all '
my links worked and i was all updated.
Friday 2-17-17
Today the robotics kids showed us their final robot. THey drove it around for us and it goes really fast. After Tony showed us the scores for our car
races but some people havent finished their three runs so we cant total the scores. My final all together total was 163.7. After that we just worked on
our websites. Also here are some pictues that need to be added to my website.

Tuesday 2-21-17
Today the robotics kids talked to us about theuur final adjustments to the robot. Today is bag and tag day so they have to be done today. We watched
the video again and they pointed out their focuses for the robot. WE went into the shop to watch the robot move and funtion. After that we came back
to the claaroom and Dr. Neat showed us the good websites and then showed us how he graded. Also he showed us our grades and the different types of
groups.

Today we did another wednesday Challenge. We had to create an A in sketchup and tomorrow we have to build it in class. Here is a pic of the one we made.

Today when we first got to class we watched a video about people searching for stars and planets revolving around stars. The scientist where intervewed
about other planets and how thaty found the ones theyve discoverd. Then after that we just worked on our website but one of my pictues wasnt working so
Ian helped me fix it.

Monday 2-28-17
Today Dr. Neat showed us what Mr. Miller will look for in our websites on Friday. I only have to put in a few more things and fix some links but other
than that i have everything. Then Dr. NEat showed us our next project to do id our car passed 100. i got 163. We have to create a car that he made a

Today we have another Wednesday Challenge but i wasnt here because of a game. We lost 6 to 14 but they arent even in our league so it doesnt matter. Here

Today we continued to work on the challenge from yesterday. I helped them with what they needed. we measured and cut arcs into cardboar and Cole cleaned and

Today Mr. Miller talked to us about the Wednesday Challenge yesterday and some of the ideas and thoughts we had throughout the challenge. After that we worked on
our websites because we are being graded on it this weekend and then after i worked on the sketchup car that we have to make.

Monday 3-6-17
Today i had to go to the councelers office for my schedule next year. It took the whole class period because there where people infront of me. I am taking algebra 2
honors, english, kineise, choir, lacrosse and if i end up taking US history over summer then i can do engeneering again.

TOday Mr. Miller is talking to the people doing google sites and shwoing them how to fix some of their problems so i just did my website. After that i go to keep working
on the car for Dr. Neat.
Wednesday 3-8-17
Today before we started the Wednesday Challenge Michael explained how they graded the cones and announced the winner. We didnt win but we got third. After the the
challenge is to mail a potato chip without it breaking.
Thursday 3-9-17
Today we got back into our groups and we contiunued to figure out what our design was going to be. We thought of many different ideas but then we decided on a russian doll
type design. You put the pringle into a small box filled with cotton balls then put that box into a bigger box etc.
Friday 3-10-17
TOday since it is a minimmun day we didnt have much time to work on our project and we fininshed the word document yesterday so we drew a picture of what it will look like also.
After that i cintiunued to work on my websites.
SPRING BREAK
Over spring break i had lacrosse practice everyday so we couldnt go anywhere. After practice i would jsut hang out with my friends. It wasnt very eventful. On thursday
MY parents, sister and i went to An American in Paris, the broadway play which was really fun. Besides that all i did was sleep a lot, eat, practice, and hang out with
my friends.

Monday 3-13-17
TOday we are going to start working on our project that we recieve from another group. i couldnt open the sketchup of the structure because it was made in an updated version of
sketchup which i dont have so Sam took the file and made it a sketchup i can open. Then after we strated to build it. Here is the sketchup.

Today i wasnt here because we had a lacrosse game and due to banking day we had to leave right after lunch. WE won 10-3 so that was exciting.

We didnt have school yesterday so today the robotics people talked to us about the robotics competion, how it went, and what happend. They showed us a video
of the last match in the comp. The 6th ranked team beat the 1st ranked team. After Mr. Miller talked to us about our grades and how we can bring it up.

Today was Wednesday so we had another challenge. Today it was to figure out weather it was worth writing 1 to a million for a guarenteed A or just to take

Today i didnt go to class because i had a lacrosse game. We lost 12-10 but it wasnt for leauge so it doest matter.

Today Dr. Neat wasnt here today so we just worked on our websites. We tried to get another FRC stream up but it wouldnt work so we just continued to work

Monday 4-3-17
Today the robotic people talked to us about their competition over the weekend. THey showed us videos and explained a lot. THey talked to us about how they
communicated through hand signals. They showed us the videos where they won and their tacktics on how they won.

Today we need to fix our website and add things then we haev to work on the project we are currently on. Im in the project of building the car that we where
given a sketchup for.

Today is wednesday so we have anohter challenge. We had to fine a any circle measure it and figure out the circumfrance divided by the diameter to figure out

Today Dr. NEat is giving us a real life skateboard and we have to make a sketchup of it. With all the correct dimensions. Kevin showed us different types of
tools that will help us make the sketchup. He also showed us the different ways to make the sketchup of the board.

TOday Mr. Miller talked to us about the allumni that went on and accomplished things. Also he talked to us about the trip that they require money for. He talked

Today for a little bit we worked on the website and updated it. After that Dr. NEat showed us the grades for what we got for our website last week. THen we got
to work on our skateboard.

TOday we are working on our websites and our sketchup skateboard. Its really hard to create the sketchup so it took us the whole period. ITs not quite finished
though so i dont have the sketchup.

Today we are just working on our own projects so Tyler Evan and I worked on our own skateboard sketchups. I dont know what design im going to do so im going
to research it before i start to design.

Today we have a normal day and so we are just working on our projects. Kevin is showing us again how to make a skateboard on skretchup. Then after we just worked
on our own project.
Tuesday 4-18-17
Today the robotics people talked to us about whats going to happen and the timing of things for the competioion that they are leaving for tonight. After since today
is a block schedule day we have 2 hours to work on our own projects but i have to leave at 1:45 so i will miss a lot of class but i got to work on my skateboard
for a little. We are playing Glendale today so it will be a very aggressive game.

TOday we didnt have class because of schedule
Today we started class out by watching live feed of the compettition in texas Dr. Neat just played it throughout the period. After that i worked on my skatboard
sketchup.
Today we had periods 2, 4, and 6 so we didnt come to class today.
Today the robotics kids came back so they showed us pictues and explained each one and about the competition. After that we worked on our projects. I am basically
done but i have to finish the corners so that they are rounded. then i just measured the different lines and things so that i can make sure i like the design beofre
i print out the design and start to build it.
Today we have a new challenge. we have to figure out how many piece of board we can fit into a 5' x 5' board with the wood being 10" in width and 32" < L < 46".
Evan and i figured out that we can fit 8 boards into the piece of wood with an extra 20" of waste. Here is a pic and a Wednesday Challenge Form.
Today MR. Miller reminded us that we are being graded on our websites tomorrow. Here are some of the things required. After that we worked on our own projects.
Today Dr. NEat showed us a video of the first time a satalite went to saturne and took pictures in the rings and sent back pictures. After that i fixed my website for the grading tomorrow
and worked more on my skateboard.
TOday we started off going over grades and what we can do to fix our websites. After that i updated my website and then i worked more on my skateboard. Im basically done but i just have
to make sure that my measurements are right and i like my design.
Today we where let off early in the beginnig of class to work on our own projetcs and so i updated my website and then worked on my skatboard. Here is the sketchup.
today we had another challenge. We had to make a paper air plane then switch with anohter group and make their air plane using instructions. We went pretty far because we crumpled up the

Today we worked on our own projects and i printed my skateboard out today. It basically took the whole period because other people where printing before me and the printer is really slow
so i was basically waiting the whole period.
Today we just kept working on our own projects. Today i cut out my printed template and taped it together.
Today i cut out the panneling for my board. I had to measure and cut the that my board could fit on the pannelling. IT took about the whole period so i couldnt do much after that. I
took my project home and glued the panneling and cut out the shape of my board. So most of it i did at home.
TOday we have no wednesday Challenge so today i have to put on my trucks onto the cardboard so i know where they are going to be placed. After that we just hung
out for a while till class ended.
Today What i had to do was update my website and put the trucks on my board and test them. People where using all of the trucks so i couldnt do anything on my board. My computer
had to update some software and it tookd 40 minutes to log into the computer so i didnt have a lot of time to do much. I justupdated and made sure things where loading and shwing up.
Today we worked more on our projects. i put the trucks on my board and tested it. i had to calculate the average of the measurments to see if my board will go straight. After that i just
